Review of The Enforcer (1976) by Andrew G — 14 Feb 2010
The Dirty Harry franchise is still going strong. The Enforcer is just as good as Magnum Force, but still fails to top the first film. It's typical Dirty Harry flare, a decent plot where ultimately you know that Harry is going to save the day, it's just a matter of when and how.
The action scenes, especially the chase about half-way in, are really intense and extremely entertaining. Though the score is over the top, it's just what you're used to. I think the sexist issues about a female officer in this film were ok, but they could have been followed up on a little more.
The Enforcer's only problem is that it doesn't distinguish itself from the previous two films, it's just another Dirty Harry film as entertaining as it is.
