Review of The End of the Tour (2015) by Vincent S — 06 Aug 2015
Full of mixed feelings about this one. Segal and Eisenberg deliver some really fine performances here in a beautifully realized and directed film. But as one unfamiliar with Wallace or his writing, I have to say it's also an incredibly depressing story.
Segal's Wallace is not so much sympathetic as sad and painful to watch. He looked unhealthy and ate nothing but junk food throughout the film, so I had to wonder if his diet, known to put people in a deep funk, is what actually killed him in the end.
