A sentimental look at one of Londons great tragic characters.... The fact that Joseph (john) merrick was a real person who suffered greatly and not just some fictionalised dickens creation lends david lynch's classic balck and white movie a real sense of dramatic flair!
Though not a perfect movie a brilliant cast of familiar and very very familiar faces all giving career defining performances, beautiful scene stealing cinematogophy and totally convincing make up effects make the elephant man the classic drama it is...
