Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Nikki W — 05 Feb 2012
This is an incredibly moving film about the life of John Merrick, who suffered extreme deformity all over his body. The film is handled with great care and both Anthony Hopkins and John Hurt bring sensitive performances to each character.
The fact that its shot in black and white makes the Victorian setting feel very realistic. A true classic of cinema; this is a movie that deserves to be appreciated.
