Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Terry M — 16 Oct 2018
David Lynch's wonderful use of sound and his gift for working in black and white heighten this phenomenal film that contains two amazing performances from John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins. John Hurt is amazing in this film.
he is heartbreaking. The cinematography, the sound design and the art direction and script are near perfection! When David Lynch writes and directs his original material, I can find his films irritating and uneven.
He should make another film with a screenplay written by someone else with better source material like he did with this wonder of a film. This film is the only David Lynch film that I can watch repeatedly .
The film is that beautiful, still wildly original in spotsl and like I said heartbreaking! This film , to me, is David Lynch's masterwork.
