Review of The East (2013) by Shannon S — 03 Jun 2014
A well acted, morality play about terrorism. It takes a look at the motivations behind terrorism, how the justification process works, and ultimately asks the question, can two wrongs ever make a right.
Brit Marling is pretty impressive here, her character is smart, beautiful, motivated, strong, and very confused. Marling is a star in the making, she co-wrote the script, and I'm looking forward to see what she does next.
It's an excellent movie, and it begs a lot of questions.
