Review of The East (2013) by Paul B — 01 Jul 2014
The East a suspenseful thriller that really the trailer does not do it justice.
When looking at the trailer you think its about a group that just goes out and kills etc..
This movie is much more than that.
Its about a group well more like a cult that portrays themselves like environmentalists that go after multi national companies that do harm to our planet.
The East group takes justice into their own hands to physically hurt or kill the big bosses of those companies for the white collar crimes they commit that effects the entire human population.
I understand the message the movie is trying to tell but I do feel their are better methods in trying to relay that message without taking the law into you own hands.
Fight using your own actions believing in your own ability to make those changes.
THe weird or unbelievable thing I felt about this movie was that the leader of The East saying that they live within the environment etc.. drives around in a Mercedes Benz, how that in itself is not a contradiction I don't know what is??
Although this movie is PG I would say its better to stay away from kids a better environment show that can get the message across for the kids would be Captain Planet.
This movie is not bad I do recommend it and do not just take it based on the crap trailer.
