Review of The East (2013) by Chris W — 22 Jun 2014
Quite a good movie, honestly. Skarsgard and Marling were fantastic. The plot was more-or-less believable, flowing quite perfectly throughout. The first 15 or 20 minutes were a bit unclear as to where the film was going, but it does become clear, which is when it begins to heat up.
The film does a nice job of subtly building suspense in a sort of crescendo. It was thought-provoking, and relevant to our lives today. The premise was especially believable. Minus a few scenes which cause a slight suspension of disbelief, and a muddled beginning, it was a very good film.
Highly recommended to fans of political dramas and/or thrillers.
