Review of The East (2013) by Martin S — 07 May 2015
That kind of arrogance is dangerous.
An intelligence firm sends Sarah into an underground terrorist organization that targets corporations that harm the public and punishes them in various ways. Sarah quickly becomes remorseful for both sides of the battle. Sarah will have to make a choice before her career or life becomes in danger.
"If you want to come to dinner, wear this.".
Zal Batmanglij, director of Sound of my Voice and episodes from the upcoming television series Wayward Pines, delivers The East. The storyline for this picture is interesting and unfolds well. The acting was better than I anticipated and I found the overall feel and conclusion well done. The cast includes Ellen Page, Brit Marling, Alexander Skarsgard, Toby Kebbell, and Shiloh Fernadez.
"I don't recognize myself in the mirror.".
This was a movie I DVR'd while looking up Ellen Page pictures (I'm a fan). This was a solid performance by her and I enjoyed the film. I feel this isn't as much of a thriller as it could have been, but it was well done and entertaining. I recommend watching this once.
"You spy on us we'll spy on you.".
Grade: C+/B-.
