Review of The Eagle Has Landed (1976) by John S — 31 Oct 2008
It is really really hard, if not impossible, to make the audience empathize/root for Nazis. Add to the fact that we know from the get go that the mission can't succeed and your left with a bit of a hallow experience.
The book differs a bit in its focus and has more time/depth to rivet our attention. Still the excellent cast and sets make this film worthwhile for the first act or so.
