Review of The Eagle Has Landed (1976) by Joshua B — 12 Nov 2008
One might rent this thinking it to be about the Apollo 11 moon landing, and if so, would at the very least suprised to see Michael Caine as a Nazi officer on a mission to kill Churchill while he vacations in East Anglia.
The sheer plot might see absurd, especially with Sutherland as a IRA collaborator and Duvall as a Nazi with an eyepatch bearing commander, but actual execution makes it undeniably realistic. One can only expect the mission doesn't go as planned, but the twist ending helps out.
