Review of The Dunwich Horror (1970) by James-Masaki R — 14 Jun 2011
It starts off well, but in an average way, like watching a TV show more than a movie. But then the creepiness is supposed to kick in, but it isn't creepy. It's more bizarre in a drugged up psychedelic way.
Horror films in post-psychedelic America was not the best mix. Maybe on drugs the movie will be better especially during the ritual scenes with the colorful effects, but without them, the movie was just weird and dull.
Not exactly laughable, it does have some good performances from porn-stached Dean Stockwell and Daddy Ed Begley.
