Review of The Dunwich Horror (1970) by Whit W — 29 Jun 2012
An awful telling of the H.P. Lovecraft tale. This is so stuck in its late '60s, early '70s period that it really distracts from the story. That story, by the way, is not easily told especially given the limits of '60s special effects.
The way that they showed the Old Ones was totally lame and Dean Stockwell, Sandra Dee and Sam Jaffe were poorly cast. I'm not even sure how I can give this a 2 out of 10 score. I guess for the effort of trying to tackle it.
