Review of The Duellists (1977) by Gary E — 29 Jul 2007
Argubly Ridley scott`s finest film, despite being his first .A majestic and self contained tale or more a accuratly a character study adapted from Conrad`s short story. This Film perfectly encapsulates themes of honour and obsession with an astounding attention to detail (you even see the changing fashions of the Grand Armee) all against the epic backdrop of the Napoleonic wars .
Fantastic.
