Review of The Duellists (1977) by Gurur S — 29 Jan 2008
An all time favourite of mine. The opening looks like a painting by Monet and the dialogue is subtley gripping. Each character seems alive within the plot and to this day I am frustrated with Keitel's character's beligerence.
The fights share the realism I feel from the whole picture. Great work from a great director.
