Review of The Duellists (1977) by King L — 28 May 2012
I wanted to see this movie because it was directed by Ridley Scott and it was based on a short story by Joseph Conrad. Scott seems to be heavily influenced by Conrad's writings and his movies reflect it.
The sci-fi movie Alien which was also directed by Scott has references to Conrad's novels. I enjoyed Alien so much that I wanted to see Scott's other films. Also one of the few books that I liked which I has to read for required reading when I was in school was Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness.
