Review of The Duellists (1977) by Carter M — 28 Feb 2004
I haven't updated this thing in a while..

THE DUELLISTS (1977), is too repetitive and not at all compelling. I did not care about the outcome between the duellists. It's shot very well, and that's about it. Keith Carradine is borderline horrible throughout, acting wise. A generous six out of ten..
.
MATCHSTICK MEN (2003), is the latest from Ridley Scott. Really not much different from your standard con flick. However, Nick Cage is awesome and makes the film enjoyable. Alison Lohman is also good..
.
WHALE RIDER (2003), I kept falling asleep during this one. I was pretty tired when I started watching it, so I can't necessarily fault the movie. In fact, I probably shouldn't rate it. I remember almost nothing..
.
RUNAWAY JURY (2003), is ludicrious. How the hell did they get Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Rachael Weisz, and John Cusack to sign on? They must have been forced at gun point..
