Review of The Duellists (1977) by Stefano L — 15 Oct 2015
The duellist has that charme of some classic movies, although doesn't have the cult status that has, for example, Barry Lyndon. Why? The costumes and the characters are perfect, the music is basic but incisive, but the plot is a bit flat, and after the second duel you are not much interested anymore in what happens and you start to think: ok, we understood this, so what? The problem is that this "so what" goes on until the very end.
So what? guess!
