Review of The Drop (2014) by Scottie T — 27 Jun 2015
The Drop! The Drop was really good, it was a little flat at times and things could have felt more exciting and coheasive, but I really enjoyed it for the performances and for the general story. Tom Hardy was spectacular in this.
He was so subtle, and that really added alot, but you could just see every emotion and thought that went through his character, and he did that by using a different voice than he usually does in movies, and also the way he carried himself around in this movie kind of just made him seem innocent, and scared but yet brave at the same time.
James Gandolfini was in his last movie, and he did pretty good, he was pretty raw in this movie. was not a nice guy, but there wasnt really as much to his character as there was to Tom Hardy's character.
Tom Hardy totally stole the show. This is a movie where I didnt know certain elements were going to be involved in this and I really liked it, and it really surprised me and I was happy I didnt know to much about The Drop.
if Tom Hardy wasn't in it I think it would still be good, just not as great as it was considering there was alot of tension you could feel from hardys performance and I dont know who else could pull this role off any better than Tom Hardy.
he was just great. go watch the movie, its pretty worth it.
