It is a perfect pop song of a movie about beating someone who can only lose, but who thinks they can only win, which means they can only lose, but only after you have proven them beaten by winning. Has there ever been a sadder tough guy than Ryan O'Neal? Has there ever been an emptier catch phrase than his: "Go Home.
"? Has there ever been a better western played out in the city without hats or horses?
