As far as car chase films go, forget bullit. This is the real deal. Plus there's a half interesting storyline going on between (Bruce Dern is an excellent cunt). all three major car chase/smash up scenes are top quality, especially between the red pickup and firebird and Ryan O'Neil is much cooler than Steve McQueen!!.
If you're into car chase films, see this before you die.
