Review of The Dressmaker (2015) by Anna I — 26 Feb 2016

I was disappointed in this film, not because it wasn't good but because it so deeply misrepresented itself. It wasn't a heart warming film about someone who came home and shook things up a bit, healed old wounds and made a positive difference in people's lives while also healing her own wounds and developing loving grounded relationships.

This was a revenge film where in the end life sucks, people are assholes and the best that can be done is to punish, kill and abandon everyone and everything.
