Review of The Dressmaker (2015) by Katie P — 06 Mar 2017
It seems like the critics saw a different movie than I saw. It was funny, unpredictable, tender, poignant, surprising, and enjoyable from beginning to end, not to mention the incredible fashions. I'm not sure what the critics were expecting - perhaps that was the problem, they had likely decided what they expected to see beforehand, which is never a clean palate to watch a movie by.
Kate Winslet was glamorous, down-to-earth, and stunning. And she was backed up by an excellent cast who made quirky personalities completely believable. It could not have been better. This is a must-see.
Sit back and enjoy.
