Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Kenneth M — 25 Jun 2008
What Kieslowski does for cinema is what Steinbeck did for writing: Create beautiful images juxtaposed against the fragility of life. The ethereal Irene Jacob is wonderful as the heroine doppelgangers Weronika/Veronique.
She brings life to Kieslowski's characters as well as meaning. The cinematography is beyond that of current American films.
