Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Radek C — 03 May 2009
Yet another example of Kieslowski's mastery of visuals & music. Disturbing images from Poland followed by alluring French reality - both parts with beautiful Preisner's score in the background; sometimes I feel that dialogues were needless in Kieslowski's films, as there is so much content, so much meaning with no words being said.
I really loved the story, so mystical and, in a way, filled with love & positive emotions. The first Veronique definitely better, a more interesting performance, so feminine and fragile. A good watch.
