Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Jack C — 31 Jan 2013
Enigmatic vision of master Kieslowski, and an examination of the duality in the world, as he follows in this film a bond between two women, one Polish and the other French, who do not know each other but are linked spiritually and physically.
Irene Jacob is amazing, acting both parts of the two women. The film has a wonderful photography, as expected in a Kieslowski work, but the plot itself may be too confuning to follow. That does not take away from the originality and from the meditative nature of the film.
