Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Donald H — 22 Jun 2010
I enjoyed this a lot. Irène Jacob was quite beautiful and captivating in her roles. My initial thought while watching was that the film was about the life of an exile: The artist tries to persist in a society that is crumbling and has their life continue in their double in France, who finds a way to survive while coming to terms with the other life in Poland.
Now I see how it is more general, as about possibilities and choice, although without a definite positive ending.
