A confounding, dreamlike film. I have a hard time putting my finger on what it all means and, indeed, it has many thoughtful meanings. The sheer emotion is what sustains this movie, even in it's various, impressionistic flights of fancy.

It's incredible cinematography is key in telling the story. Irene Jacob plays two phenomenal and different roles. I loved the rapturous first part with Weronika but it's the second part, with Veronique, that becomes more opaque and troublesome.

Kieslowki has crafted a fine film, one whose meaning may allude, but whose deep truths can be felt. It's also enjoyable to pull apart, dissect, and attempt to solve this puzzle of a movie. I also feel like this is a film I will return to and find new meaning each time.
