Review of The Double (2014) by Maximiliano D — 03 May 2014
Based of the Russian novelist Dostoyevsky's novel. At times feeling very like a mix of '1984' and 'Brazil'. Black humour is the call of the day, as a man life slowly unravels around him.
Surreal, dark, and witty throughout, The Double is a superlative piece of cinema. A brilliantly sharp script and excellent performances from Jesse Eisenburg and Mia Wasikowska make it a masterpiece.Essentially, this movie is what happens when Wes Anderson becomes depressed and starts writing dark comedy.
And I mean that in the best possible way.
