Review of The Double (2014) by Jeff C — 20 May 2014
I treated this movie as a surreal expression of art neauveu. As a painting which some treat it as a masterpiece and others as the sloppy work of a ten year old. I chose to treat the movie following the latter approach.
It started with some great ideas behind regarding social oppresion and the monotony of the norm and the mediocre however from some point onward the movie becomes way convoluted and tiresome. In other words, too much.
I sure feel sorry for poor Dostoevsky whose book was so poorly adapted in this movie.
