Review of The Do-Over (2016) by Cade H — 12 Jun 2016
The Do-Over is part classic Adam Sandler and part something new. The premise of the film is a little insane but it sets up for a decent storyline that actually has some depth to it. Sandler and Spade are very funny together but it never really has any over the top hilarious moments.
The biggest thing I noticed about this Happy Madison production was that it stayed fairly down to earth and never went absurdly out of whack or unbelievable. There were some action scenes and a couple intense moments but the ending turned out to be a little underwhelming.
I was surprised how much the movie kept my attention and it did so without a ton of laughs. I enjoy Sandler's movies and The Do Over was a bit of a change, a good change that I think most people can appreciate.
