Review of The Divorcee (1930) by Bill B — 30 Mar 2008
A fun romp. This was early sound Hollywood, so the dialogue is sometimes delivered a bit stiffly (they were still making people see diction coaches back then), but WHAT dialogue! Naughty! Set in 1920s, it's the tale of a "modern" two-career couple who break apart.
Terrific seduction scene with Robert Montgomery, and one of Shearer's best ever films.
