Review of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them (2014) by Swayamdeep S — 19 Jan 2015
I have not watched this movie ("Them"). Instead of watching ''them", I saw ''him' and then "her". When I watched 'him", Eleanor was sort of mysterious character who appeared and disappeared . Watching ''her' was like getting to know this mysterious character and some insights into her grieving mind. Though both movies are about same events, but focussing on only one of the person made it really unique.
Watching her after him gives viewer a sense of closure. You get to know why eleanor said something. In His : She tells conner that she has forgotten how their child looked like. In Her ; there is brief scene in which she walks into their bedroom and recalls a moment from past. She cant recall the face of her child. So she ask conner how their child looked like.
Also, there are differences in the same scenes in Her and Him. That is really special about this movie. Without watching these two movies separately , you cant get the special thing about Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.
So my advice is.
1. Watch "His' , then watch 'her'.
2. Dont watch 'Them' before watching his and her.
