Review of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them (2014) by Tom G — 01 Aug 2015
This is a film about identity and grief. These are worthy topics. I just wish the film was worthy of them. A child had died and his death has affected the people around him. His mother and father are challlenged to their core to carry on living with the fact of his life and of their loss at his death.
He has been internalized in their identities and his loss has shattered their views of themselves. The film recounts their attempts to deal with this loss to themselves which they interpret as grief for him.
