One of the best war movies ever! It's well paced, with funny moments, takes itself just seriously enough to where it's still really good. Lee Marvin is great as the commanding officer. As just a war drama it wouldn't be on par with the so many other more credible and even better period piece movies out there about the time period, but for what it tries to be it works very well.
