The "Special Uncut Restored Edition" DVD of this film is unfortunately a pretty low-quality transfer.
Even so, you can easily see that The Devils is masterfully directed and acted. There is something terrifying in the thought that the combination of private interest politics and total public ignorance recurs cyclically.
