Agreed that some of the sequences are biased and one-sided, the essence of the movie is to show the effects of war in the lives, communities, bodies and minds of those involved and around, including the psychological effects.
And that intent does come across starkly, but around the story of 3 friends and the symbolism of the insane Russian roulette.
