This is a perfect movie. By far this is my favorite film of all time. Robert De Niro, John Savage, Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken and John Cazale all play extraordinary roles as friends living in a small American mining town.

This is an in-depth examination of the Vietnam war and it's changing effects on three friends that endure a terrifying event. This event that must remain unmentioned alters their lives in every aspect possible.

This movie is nothing like Apocalypse Now or Platoon. It shows you life after war and how friendship can and will always endure anything. This movie was made 10 years before I was born and it is still relevant to the world we exist in today.

This film won best picture in 1978 and is one of the forgotten classics of the 70's. Buy or at least rent this picture, you will be on the edge of your seat from the minute they land in Vietnam to the credits.

I hope that Universal Pictures releases this one day on Blu-ray.
