It isn't very romantic to dump someone instead of trying to solve whatever is the problem. In this case we just don't care if they do or not. Personaly, I wished she would hurry up and kill herself already, so I could go to bed, which in itself, proves the problem of lack of character developement and story background on the writer's part.
