Review of The Deep (1977) by Scott S — 11 Nov 2010
Pedestrian story, seemingly put together haphazardly and quickly. Unfortunately the enduring quality to this film is simply the first ten minutes and the beautiful Jacqueline Bisset frolicking in a wet tshirt.
The story is trite and overly simple. The acting is good, especially Gossett and Shaw who are always top shelf. This is the kind of film that surprises me that they have not made a remake, though Into the Blue and Fool's Gold come close enough.
Utterly forgettable and ultimately forgotten.
