This was the first black and white film I saw as a child. And it is one of my favorite films. In the 50s many alien films went like this.
Aliens invade earth, cause mass choas, then somehow end up lossing.
This film however was different. The alien comes to protect us from ourselfs, instead of ya know, killing everyone.
If you are the kind of person that enjoys movies with lots of explosions and violence, you might want to watch the new version.
However if love inteligent films, then plop a spot on the sofa and watch this great film.
