Review of The Day After (1983) by Rogelio P — 11 Oct 2007
When I saw this back in 1983 as it made its debut (made for TV movie) it simply freaked me out to no end. Before that came out I was a young kid believing there would be a way to "make it" our of a nuclear exchange.
.. an eye opener. The special effects were not up to snuff but they were sure enough to grab attention. Many say this movie created the final push to have world leaders re-think the long standing cold-war détente scenario and let go of the madness.
Saw the movie not too long ago on TV again and I was trapped again, 24 years after - that has to show the mark of a true classic. Watch it... and LEARN.
