Review of The Day After (1983) by Tony M — 11 May 2011
Time hasn't been kind to The Day After. Starting with a routine disaster movie opening some bad dialogue and a few bad performances you'll wonder why you even started to watch it. But persevere because what follows is a dark unrelenting portrayal about the aftermath of WWIII.
Even by todays standards it's a harrowing movie. It's almost unbelievable that the ABC TV Network made and broadcast the film in 1983.Legend has it that Ronald Regan watched it the night it premiered and soon after began his attempts to end the Arms Race with the USSR.
After watching The Day After you'll believe the Legend might just be true.
