Review of The Day After (1983) by Deborah L — 01 Dec 2011
Realistic fictional depiction of the first days after a limited nuclear exchange between the US and USSR, based in Lawrence, KS, using the residents of that town and only two known actors. So realistic that a prank power outage during the broadcast at the moment the bombs hit caused panic in a Boston area community.
Definitely made those of us who grew up during that time think about the consequences of nuclear war.
