Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Zechariah H — 01 Jun 2015
The Dark Knight Rises is a perfect ending to an amazing trilogy, it ties in all the elements of Batman Begins with the return of the League of Shadows, and The Dark Knight, with the death of Harvey Dent and the lie that left Gotham in a ray of false hope.
It addresses all of these things in does it in such a well done way. What I love about these trilogy is that it isn't about the character of "Batman". It's about Bruce Wayne and the hope He inspired through his actions of the Batman.
And we see the rebirth of Batman, after his long retirement, and near death. Tom Hardy as Bane is an exceptional villain, who can not only beat Batman in a physical fight (which is one of the greatest fight scenes in cinema history), he can outsmart him.
And Bane isn't just a dumb brute, he is given depth and meaning in the story. Anne Hathaway was amazing as Catwoman, Gary Oldman, Jason Gordon Levitt, ect. Everyone gave amazing performances in this movie.
The Dark Knight Rises ends in such a amazing way, that ties in previous narrative, and does justice to both previous films and the character of Batman. The Dark Knight trilogy the greatest trilogies ever made.
