Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Stuart Y — 22 Mar 2009
The original and best Hammer Frankenstein movie, which is still a bit gruesome in places, which is tame compared to today standards, but all the same still a bit scary for kids.
Peter Cushing is fantastic, playing the mad scientist who creates the creature played by Christopher Lee, which is still the best make up of the character since Universal's.
It's a tight, and very well written story, with the characters fleshed out, and is the best adaptation of Mary Shelly's novel.
If you've not seen it, go see it, it is a true horror classic.
