Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Johnny M — 10 Oct 2011
A wonderful film enhanced by Peter Cushing's definitive portrayal of Baron Frankenstein. Terence Fishers direction, thought too lurid at the time, is exemplary. Christopher Lee doesn't get much to work with as the lumbering creature but he would have been hard pushed to better Karloff's definitive take. Lee would get his chance in Dracula a few months later.
A great film no, a bone-fide classic.
