Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Kim A — 13 Jun 2009
Still an impressive movie after all these years and the film that made Hammer Films a household name for horror fans all over the world. Peter Cushing's terrific performance dominates the film as his character goes through the transformation from curious scientist to an obsessive fiend.
Lee creates a terrifying monster who still demands the viewers sympathy. This may not be Hammer's best film, but its importance cannot be over-estimated putting the studio on the map and creating the enduring partnership of two very fine actors.
