While there can be no denying the films impact on the genre and where it was headed, Curse of Frankenstein itself has very little of anything memorable of itself. Peter Cushing does an admirable job, but then again he always does.

Christopher Lee as the Monster is a non factor. He had little to do and does little to act through the makeup, which isn't the greatest eighter. What we have is a Frankenstein film about Dr. Frankenstein, NOT the monster and while that isn't a bad idea on paper it doesn't make for a great film.

The films impact, Cushing's performance, and the very good ending make this essential genre viewing but this is a movie whose impact has not aged well.
