Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
Cushing is fantastic as the eager and morally corrupted mad scientist, that will stop at nothing to conquer his wildest fantasies in medical science. The script retains a great deal of character depth with Cushings role throughout, with a decent amount of emotion and engagement.
Lee as the villain does impress with his psychical presence but that's about it, without a great deal of dialogue (none at all in fact) he does a fantastic job of proposing emotion through physicality.
The production design looks truly terrific as does the make-up, with the latter not aging particularly well.
